What is the NIE?

  • Foreigner ID number issued by Spanish authorities

  • Needed to open a bank account, rent housing, register for health care, etc.

How to Get It:

  1. Empadronamiento Appointment at the city hall

  2. NIE Appointment at the police station

  3. Documents Needed: Passport, school acceptance letter, proof of funds, insurance, and rental contract
